Davao Medical School Foundation, Inc was set up because it was clear that both primary care doctors and specialists were in short supply in the bigger cities of Mindanao. Its College of Medicine was the first of its kind in Mindanao, and it is committed to ensuring that people from all walks of life have access to high-quality medical education and training to serve their communities in both urban and rural areas.
Davao Medical School Foundation, The DMSF campus has a medical school, a dental school, an institute of primary health care (IPHC), and a centre for education, research, and development in health (CERDH). Students at DMSF also come from some of the best schools in the Philippines. It is run by a group of people who call themselves a consortium. They also run several other educational institutions in the Philippines.
The 2.5-hectare campus of the school is close to the centre of Davao City, known for its calm weather and government. The City is home to at least five institutions and universities and several elementary, middle, and high schools. In addition, students do clinical rotations at the Davao Medical Center, the Davao Doctors Hospitals, the San Pedro Hospital, and the Brokenshire Memorial Hospital in their third and fourth years of school.
About 10,058 people sign up for all four years of the programme, taught by 125 professors with a wide range of medical specialties.
